After the successful night walk through Montgrós last June, on Sunday September 29th we held our second charity walk to raise funds for sarcoma research. On this occasion, the walk took place around Sant Pere de Ribes, and was organized by the Ribes Town Council.
The route started at the Bosc d’en Plaça sports courts and ran along rural roads on the outskirts of the town, passing by the hermitage of Sant Pau, returning and finishing at the sports courts. A route of about 5 km of low difficulty, accessible to all audiences, where the participants could enjoy a pleasant walk and the good early autumn weather.
At the end of the walk, a solidarity raffle was held, where more than a dozen gifts were distributed among the attendees (courtesy of different businesses and collaborating establishments, including the town hall itself). The event ended with a small parliament, by Mercè Codina, president of FundARC to thank the people for their participation, as well as a representative of the Sant Pere de Ribes town hall.
We value very positively how the event turned out, seeing that we are managing to create a growing group of committed people who always stand by us, and also because of the involvement we see from the institutions, in this case the City Council of Sant Pere de Ribes, who has already expressed his desire to repeat this event annually.
