Sant Jordi 2026

On 23 April we once again set up our charity stall on the Rambla Principal in Vilanova i la Geltrú to celebrate Sant Jordi, Catalonia’s day of books and roses. This is the third time we’ve taken part! The town was packed, and this year there were more book, flower, craft and community stalls than in previous years: a wonderful atmosphere for getting out into the streets and talking about culture and solidarity.

This year we went to fetch the roses ourselves: we travelled to Mercabarna-flor, the wholesale flower market in Sant Boi de Llobregat, to buy 50 of them. They flew off the stall! All the proceeds from the roses and floral gifts have gone in full to sarcoma research.

We also had our merchandise on the stall: tote bags, T-shirts, ribbons and other items featuring the Foundation’s logo. Every purchase is a small contribution to research and, at the same time, a way of raising awareness of a cancer that, because it is rare, often goes unnoticed.

Beyond the sales, for us Sant Jordi is above all a day for conversation. Throughout the day we talked with everyone who came over to ask about our work in the Garraf area and about how we collaborate with leading hospital laboratories that research sarcoma.

It meant a lot to us to see so many friends, family members and local organisations come by the stall to say hello and keep us company during the day. To everyone who stopped by, bought a rose, a bag or a T-shirt, or simply came to find out more about our cause: thank you so much. See you next year!
