Cantabile Concert at the Cercle de Gràcia Theater

The CANTABILE choir offered us the songs from the program “KM 0, Songs between words”.

The event that we held at the Cercle de Gràcia Theater in Barcelona, last Saturday, January 18, adheres to the cause of FundARC (Anna Rovira Codina Foundation) whose mission is to raise funds for Sarcoma research.

The event began with an interview by MERCÈ SESÉ with MERCÈ CODINA, president of FundARC, where she explained that following the death of her daughter Anna, due to sarcoma, she learned about this type of cancer up close. The doctors explained to her that it was a so-called “minority” cancer and that, therefore, there was much less budget for research and treatment. The interview ended by commenting that improvements in cancer treatments and the hope of recovery for patients have improved greatly over the years, especially in the most common cancers such as breast, colon, lung…, but that less common cancers – such as sarcoma – account for only 25% of diagnoses and, therefore, receive less attention than the remaining 75% of cancers with the highest incidence.

At the end of the concert, the foundation thanked those attending the event. We would like to highlight the willingness of the organization to offer us the theater for this cause.
