On Sunday, September 29, two solidarity events coincided. If in the morning there was a solidarity walk through Sant Pere de Ribes, in the afternoon we offered a theater work in the multicultural hall of Canyelles, organized by the town hall itself.
The Mallorcan company Iguana Teatre offered us “Les Filles de la Misericordia“, a work co-produced with two other leading companies on the Spanish scene: Albena Teatre (Valencia) and Teatro del Temple (Zaragoza).
This work presents the story of four friends, four dolls who are in a House of Mercy. The four women will weave a story of friendship and survival amid the stale Catholic education, the dangers of the chaotic eighties and their own family circumstances, to build a life of their own based on mutual support, and despite everything, in the ‘hope in the future.
Unfortunately, the level of attendance did not match the immense quality of the play, in which the actors delighted the audience with a masterful performance.
Here we have to self-criticize and analyze what lessons we can learn so that future events can reach more people, as this magnificent work deserved, so that we can also raise more funds for sarcoma research.
